Junior AI Software Engineer

Overview

Working under the supervision of the Head of IT, the Junior AI Software Engineer will support the design, development, and deployment of AI-powered software solutions across the business. The role will involve working closely with senior engineers, product owners, and business stakeholders to translate data and process requirements into practical AI applications.

This is a hands‑on technical role focused on learning through delivery, contributing to real projects while building professional experience in applied AI, automation, and software engineering best practices.

• Support the development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of AI-enabled applications, services, and APIs.
• Assist with data preparation, model training, evaluation, and optimisation for machine learning solutions.
• Contribute to proof‑of‑concept projects and help translate business requirements into technical implementations.
• Support integration of AI solutions with existing systems and assist with deployment using modern development practices (e.g. version control, containers, CI/CD).
• Participate in debugging, documentation, and knowledge sharing while continuously developing technical skills and keeping up to date with AI technologies.

• Work collaboratively with software engineers, data analysts, and business stakeholders.
• Participate in code reviews and team stand‑ups.
• Assist with troubleshooting production issues related to AI or data pipelines.
• Support internal users during testing and early adoption of AI solutions.
• Follow company security, data protection, and development standards.
• Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives where appropriate.
• Carry out any other reasonable duties aligned with the role and level of experience.
