IT Infrastructure and Operations Consultant

Rate: £400 - £450 a day outside of IR35

Contract Length: 6 months initially - potential to extend

A growing, cybersecurity organisation iis seeking an experienced contractor to provide third-line support and lead a comprehensive Technology audit during a period of transition and change.

This role is a hands-on role focusing on the Microsoft ecosystem, with a strong emphasis across security, compliance and platform optimisation. You'll play a key role in improving, assessing the IT environment whilst being hands on with project work across their IT estate.

Key responsibilities:

Providing third-line support for escalated technical issues (especially Intune and M365)
Work on several ongoing projects, such as ISO 27001 implementation and optimising Microsoft licensing
Work with the Head of IT to conduct an audit of the Technology estate
Identify skill gaps, for future team design whilst helping document systems and processes
Enable new AI rollout by assisting with Copilot across the business

Experience

Required:

Previous experience working in a Microsoft 365 environment
- Intune, Entra , O365, D365
Working with cloud native apps, e.g. Function Apps, Logic Aps, Power Automate, External Entra
Experience working in smaller or lean IT environments with the ability to
Identify gaps
Recommend Improvements
Contribute to future team and Technology Strategy
Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and take ownership of technical challenges
Ability to balance hands on delivery with advisory/audit responsibilities
