Data Science Manager

Job Description Who you are

• Lead and develop a Data Science team to deliver high-quality analytics, ML, and AI solutions that support operational and colleague-facing products.
• Enable the delivery of data science use cases end to end, ensuring solutions address real business problems and deliver measurable value.
• Translate business requirements into well-defined data science problems, aligned to M&S priorities and decision-making needs.
• Champion excellent data science practices, ensuring solutions are scalable, well-documented, and production-ready.
• Contribute to building a best-in-class data science culture, promoting collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

• Provide strong day-to-day leadership and coaching to Data Scientists, supporting technical growth, career development, and a positive learning mindset.
• Plan and prioritise work effectively, balancing demand across multiple initiatives through clear resource planning and workload management.
• Guide the team on appropriate methodologies and ML/AI techniques, embedding robust testing, validation, and monitoring into all solutions.
• Work closely with product, data engineering, analytics, and MLOps teams to ensure solutions are seamlessly integrated and supported in production.
• Communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders, explaining complex concepts simply and demonstrating the business value of data science outcomes.
