Role Overview

Our client is seeking a Middleware Engineer to support and maintain enterprise middleware platforms within a fast-paced IT operations environment. You’ll play a key role in ensuring system stability, performance, and availability, working closely with cross-functional teams across application, infrastructure, and database services.

Key Responsibilities

Support and maintain middleware across production and non-production environments
Monitor performance, logs, and alerts (e.g., Splunk, Dynatrace)
Troubleshoot incidents, perform root cause analysis, and resolve within SLAs
Execute SQL queries for validation and troubleshooting
Work within Linux/Unix environments for deployments and system checks
Support API integrations (REST/SOAP)
Assist with releases, deployments, and environment management
Collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues
Follow ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change)
Participate in an on-call support rota

Skills & Experience

Knowledge of Java-based or middleware systems
Understanding of APIs and web services (REST/SOAP)
SQL query experience and database fundamentals
Exposure to middleware/tools (Web Logic, ESB, API gateways)
Monitoring tools experience (Splunk, Dynatrace)
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Cloud knowledge (AWS/Azure)
CI/CD and Dev Ops tooling familiarity
ITIL certification
