Salary: Up to £50,000, depending on experience
Role OverviewAn exciting opportunity for a Data Analyst to join a rapidly scaling retail business and support data‑driven decision making across Black Sheep Coffee. This role will be responsible for building, maintaining and improving Power BI dashboards across the business, ensuring teams have access to accurate, clear and useful reporting. The role will also support SQL‑based data reconciliation, help identify data quality issues, and act as a key data resource for Operations and Finance.
You will work closely with stakeholders across the business to understand reporting requirements, turn data into useful insight, and present information clearly to support better decision making.
- Design, build and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards and visualisations across a range of business areas.
- Work with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into effective reporting solutions.
- Use SQL to query, validate and reconcile data across different sources.
- Maintain and improve existing Power BI reports, including performance, accuracy and usability.
- Identify trends, patterns and opportunities in the data to provide actionable insights.
- Present and explain insights to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Monitor data quality and integrity, resolving issues or escalating where needed.
- Support the adoption of new tools and processes, including AI‑enabled technologies where relevant.
- Ensure reporting is accurate, consistent and easy for teams to use.
- 3 years’ experience in a data analyst, BI analyst or reporting analyst role.
- Strong experience using Power BI to create reports, dashboards and data visualisations.
- Strong SQL skills, including querying, data validation and reconciliation.
- Good understanding of data analysis and data visualisation principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to communicate findings clearly to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and sense of ownership.
- Openness to learning new tools and technologies, including AI‑enabled processes.
- Experience working in a data team within a QSR, hospitality, retail or multi‑site business.
- Familiarity with Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric or similar modern data platforms.
- Experience using AI tools to improve reporting, analysis, automation or day‑to‑day ways of working.
