Senior Infrastructure / Dev Ops Engineer (Hands on) – Banking Client (Azure + Terraform + AKS + Banking) – London

Rate: £500 – £800 per day | Duration: 12 months | Hybrid working – 8 days onsite per month required | Inside of IR35 – Umbrella job.

The Innovation Tribe is driving the transformation of modern financial infrastructures by delivering scalable, secure, and resilient digital platforms, including the Digital Asset Platform. We are looking for an Infrastructure / Dev Ops Engineer to build, operate, and integrate platform infrastructure with GTS (Group Technology Services).

As an Infrastructure / Dev Ops Engineer, you will enable and ope rationalise the platform infrastructure, ensuring alignment with GTS services, standards and governance. You will collaborate with engineering teams, platform architects and GTS stakeholders to design, automate and maintain environments throughout the full lifecycle—from development to production—while ensuring secure, scalable, automated, and enterprise‑aligned deployments.

• Work closely with GTS teams to provision, configure and manage infrastructure services aligned with enterprise standards and processes.
• Design and implement infrastructure using IaC tools such as Terraform, ARM, Bicep, enabling consistent and repeatable deployments.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Azure Dev Ops, Git Hub Actions, etc.) to automate build, test and deployment processes.
• Set up and manage environments (DEV, TEST, PPE, PROD), ensuring readiness, stability and compliance with operational requirements.
• Deploy and manage cloud resources on Azure (preferred), including networking, compute, storage and platform services.
• Implement security controls (identity, access, secrets management, network security) in line with CISO and GTS requirements.
• Ensure systems are observable and resilient by implementing logging, monitoring, alerting and performance optimisation.
• Support release processes, ensuring infrastructure readiness and smooth deployment into production environments.
• Diagnose and resolve infrastructure‑related issues across environments, working with GTS and engineering teams.
• Identify opportunities for automation, cost optimisation, performance and reliability improvements.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field.
• Strong experience in Dev Ops, infrastructure engineering or cloud engineering roles.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred) and modern infrastructure concepts.
• Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines (Azure Dev Ops, Git Hub Actions, etc.).
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM, Azure Bicep).
• Experience with containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Solid understanding of networking, security and system design fundamentals.
• Experience working with enterprise IT environments and shared platform teams (e.g. GTS).
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools.
• Good understanding of SDLC, Agile and Dev Ops practices.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
