Junior Data Engineer

We are seeking a Junior Data Engineer to join a data-focused team within a leading financial services organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional looking to develop practical data engineering skills while working with large-scale datasets and business-critical information.

You will support the development and maintenance of data infrastructure that enables analysis, reporting, and decision-making across the business. Working alongside experienced analysts and technology professionals, you'll help improve data quality, streamline processes, and contribute to the delivery of valuable insights.

• Build and maintain data pipelines and workflows.
• Support the collection, transformation, and delivery of data for analytical purposes.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across systems.
• Help automate manual processes and improve operational efficiency.
• Work with stakeholders to understand data requirements and support reporting needs.
• Contribute to ongoing improvements in data architecture and engineering practices.

• Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline, or up to one year of relevant work experience.
• Strong SQL and Python skills.
• Understanding of data engineering concepts, databases, and ETL processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Exposure to data engineering or orchestration tools such as Airflow, dbt, Spark, or similar technologies.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience working with large or complex datasets through academic, personal, or professional projects.
• Interest in data, analytics, and technology within a commercial environment.
