Dev Ops / Platform Engineer (National Security)

Location: Opportunities across all compass points, with particular demand across South West, North West and London National Security hubs

Hybrid: Secure-site working required (typically 3–4 days per week depending on programme)

Salary: £70,000 – £120,000 plus bonus and benefits, depending on experience and SFIA grading

Clearance: Active DV / eDV clearance preferred

You will be joining a specialist engineering consultancy at a key stage in the growth of its National Security capability.

As a Dev Ops / Platform Engineer, you will help design, build and operate secure cloud platforms supporting mission‑critical applications, analytics environments and operational services.

Working within multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will collaborate closely with software engineers, architects and stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable and secure cloud‑native platforms.

Typical responsibilities include:

• Building and maintaining AWS‑based cloud platforms using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Cloud Formation and Ansible
• Supporting containerised environments using Kubernetes, Open Shift, EKS or ECS
• Designing and improving CI/CD pipelines to support secure and efficient software delivery
• Embedding security controls, compliance checks and quality gates into Dev Sec Ops  workflows
• Implementing monitoring, observability and reliability practices across production environments
• Supporting cloud transformation and platform modernisation initiatives within secure environments
• Working directly with customers and engineering teams to improve platform capability and operational resilience

The environment combines cloud engineering, platform engineering and Dev Sec Ops  practices, often supporting data‑intensive and operationally critical systems.

Due to the nature of the work, active DV / eDV clearance is preferred. Candidates should typically be sole UK nationals and comfortable operating within secure National Security environments.
