I am working with a leading UK Bank that is looking for an IT Internal Audit Manager for its Group Internal Audit function. You do not need a banking background for this role
The role sits within a growing Group Internal Audit function at a leading UK bank, covering technology and cyber risk across the business. You'll be leading audits end to end across cyber, cloud, SDLC, data risk and change programmes, and feeding directly into Audit Committee reporting. It's a broad remit with real visibility.
The roleScoping and delivering technology and cyber audits, challenging controls across cloud environments, SDLC, IAM, vulnerability management and incident response. You'll be engaging senior stakeholders, tracking issues through to closure and contributing to the annual audit plan. The function uses data analytics as part of its methodology, so comfort with that is a plus.
What they need to see:CISA or CISM is essential. Beyond that, they're open. If you've been delivering technology or cyber audits in defence, telecoms, energy, professional services or anywhere with serious infrastructure risk, your skills translate. Big 4 background with an FS or tech client base works well too.
What they're less focused on:- Whether you've sat inside a bank before. If your audit fundamentals are strong and you genuinely understand cyber and technology risk, that matters more than the industry badge.
