Job Description & How to Apply Below
Location: Greater London

We are working with a leading boutique asset manager that is seeking a hands‑on Senior Data Engineer to take ownership of its core data platform. The person will be responsible for bringing together data across investment, distribution, and operations functions, whilst ensuring consistent and reliable outputs for both reporting and broader business use.

This is not simply a technical build role. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders across the business to understand how data is consumed, ensure the platform reflects real business requirements, and drive the ongoing evolution of the firm's data environment. The position offers the opportunity to own a business‑critical platform and play a key role in the firm's wider data strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Own and develop the firm's Snowflake and Sigma data environment.
  • Consolidate and manage data across investment, distribution, and operations teams.
  • Deliver consistent, high-quality data outputs for reporting and business decision‑making.
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into scalable data solutions.
  • Drive improvements in data quality, governance, and platform capability.

Requirements:

  • Strong buy‑side experience gained within asset management, investment management, hedge funds, or a similar institutional investment environment.
  • Proven experience owning or taking significant responsibility for a data platform or enterprise data environment.
  • Deep hands‑on experience with Snowflake and exposure to Sigma or similar reporting and analytics tools.
  • Strong understanding of institutional investment data and the context behind it, including investment, distribution, client, operational, and reporting data.
  • Ability to engage confidently with business stakeholders and understand how data is used across different functions rather than focusing solely on the underlying technology.
  • Experience delivering data solutions that support both reporting requirements and broader business objectives.
  • Strong SQL and modern data architecture experience.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Due to high demand, we are advertising this role anonymously. If you would prefer to speak to someone before submitting a CV, please send a blank application to the role and someone will be in touch to discuss. We can only respond to highly qualified candidates.
