Business Intelligence Data Engineer

• We require 4–8+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, or related roles.
• We require strong hands‑on experience with AWS data solutions and engineering tools such as Glue, S3, Lambda, Redshift, and Athena.
• We require advanced SQL skills.
• We require strong Python skills for data processing and pipeline development.
• We require exposure to infrastructure and tooling such as Terraform, APIs, and CI/CD.
• We require practical exposure to AI/ML concepts, tools, or workflows.
• We value experience with cloud‑based AI services such as AWS Bedrock or similar.
• We value exposure to AI‑enabled data products, generative AI, prompt engineering, or ML pipelines.
• We prefer experience contributing to data lake builds or modern data platforms.
• We prefer experience working in complex, regulated, or public sector environments.
• We prefer exposure to Data Ops and CI/CD practices.
• BPSS clearance is essential.

• We will need you to design, build, and optimise data pipelines and data platform components within AWS.
• We will need you to support and enhance Business Intelligence reporting and analytics capabilities.
• We will need you to contribute to the development of a data lake and modern data architecture.
• We will need you to work across both BAU support and new capability development.
• We will need you to support delivery across Business Intelligence, data engineering, data platform, and AI initiatives.
• We will need you to collaborate with wider teams on AI‑related initiatives and roadmap delivery.
• We will need you to apply best practices around data quality, governance, and performance optimisation.
• We will need you to work closely with technical and business teams to deliver high‑quality data solutions.
• We will need you to identify opportunities to improve processes, automation, tooling, and platform performance.
• We will need you to bridge the gap between data engineering and emerging AI use cases.

We are investing heavily in our data platform and future AI capabilities, and this role offers the opportunity to shape both current Business Intelligence delivery and next‑generation data solutions. This is a 3‑month contract, likely to extend, based in Swindon or London with a hybrid arrangement of once per month onsite.

The role is inside IR35, offers an ASAP start, and is suited to someone who can combine strong AWS data engineering and Business Intelligence experience with practical AI/ML exposure. We are seeking a proactive, collaborative, and delivery‑focused professional to help us build modern data capabilities in a developing and evolving environment.
