Platform Engineer

We are seeking a Platform Engineer to join a growing technology function responsible for building and maintaining secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure. This role offers the opportunity to work within a modern environment, supporting critical services and managing integrations with third‑party technology providers.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in AWS and Infrastructure as Code, with experience designing resilient platforms, automating deployments, and ensuring systems meet high standards of security, reliability, and performance.

• Design, implement, and maintain secure and scalable cloud infrastructure, primarily within AWS.
• Build and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, creating reusable modules and automation scripts.
• Establish, maintain, and optimise CI/CD pipelines to support efficient software delivery.
• Collaborate with development teams to support infrastructure deployments and best practices.
• Manage technical integrations and maintain strong relationships with third‑party technology providers.
• Monitor platform performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability of systems.
• Implement security controls and support vulnerability remediation activities.
• Work closely with security teams to ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices.
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including runbooks, architecture diagrams, and process flows.
• Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to enhance platform capabilities.

• Minimum of 3 years' experience designing, building, and supporting cloud infrastructure.
• Strong expertise with AWS services and cloud security principles.
• Extensive hands‑on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code methodologies.
• Proven experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, CircleCI, Git Hub Actions, or similar.
• Experience with containerisation and orchestration technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS Fargate.
• Knowledge of serverless architectures and cloud‑native solutions.
• Familiarity with security technologies including WAF, IDS, IPS, and SIEM tools (Splunk experience desirable).
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within Agile teams.
• Experience with in Financial Services or Fin Tech environments.
• Knowledge of Open Banking, PSD2, or regulated environments.
• Programming experience with Python or other object-oriented or functional languages.
• Experience working within Agile Scrum or Kanban teams.
• Familiarity with tools such as Jira and Confluence.
