SECURITY LEAD / PRINCIPAL SECURITY ENGINEER

We are partnering with a growing fintech group operating across payments, banking technology and regulated financial services to hire a highly technical Security Lead.

This is not a traditional governance‑led Head of Information Security or CISO role. Instead, we're looking for someone who enjoys working closely with engineers, architects and Dev Ops teams to build secure cloud‑native systems whilst taking ownership of security across the wider business.

The role would suit a Security Engineering Lead, Principal Security Engineer, Product Security Lead, Security Architect or senior Dev Sec Ops  / Application Security professional looking to take ownership of security within a growing fintech environment and progress into broader security leadership over time.

You will become the primary security lead across the group, working across a modern cloud‑native technology stack supporting payments, banking and financial services platforms.

The role combines hands‑on technical delivery with ownership of the wider security roadmap, helping engineering teams build secure systems whilst driving improvements across application security, cloud security, infrastructure security and operational resilience.

Key areas include:

• Application Security and Secure SDLC
• Dev Sec Ops  and CI/CD Security
• Cloud Security (primarily GCP)
• Kubernetes and Container Security
• Security Architecture and Engineering
• Vulnerability Management
• Incident Response and Security Operations
• IAM, Secrets Management and Platform Security
• Security Governance and Compliance

You’ll work directly with software engineers, architects and Dev Ops teams to embed security into products and platforms from design through to deployment.

• Strong hands‑on experience in Security Engineering, Application Security, Dev Sec Ops , Product Security or Cloud Security
• Experience securing modern cloud‑native applications and infrastructure
• Strong understanding of Secure SDLC, threat modelling and security‑by‑design principles
• Experience securing CI/CD pipelines and software delivery platforms
• Practical experience with Kubernetes, containers and Infrastructure‑as‑Code security
• Experience with vulnerability management, penetration testing remediation and security testing tools
• Strong cloud security experience, ideally within GCP environments
• Experience working closely with engineering teams in fast‑moving technology businesses
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

• Fintech, payments, banking, EMI or regulated SaaS environments
• PCI‑DSS, PSD2, Open Banking or financial services security experience
• AWS and Azure security exposure
• Security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, CISM or cloud security certifications
