Overview
We're looking for an experienced Dev Ops Engineer to join a multidisciplinary government team, supporting the delivery and operation of complex internal platforms.
This is a hands-on role requiring someone who can contribute from day one, with strong experience across AWS, Infrastructure as Code, Kubernetes, and CI/CD. The team is looking for an engineer who champions automation and modern Dev Ops practices rather than relying on manual infrastructure management.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain cloud infrastructure within AWS environments
Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Git Hub Actions
Deploy and manage containerised workloads using Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, and ideally EKS
Work closely with engineers, analysts, and product teams to support delivery of complex platforms
Write clear technical documentation, tickets, and progress updates
Identify and resolve technical issues while promoting engineering best practices
Ensure security, IAM, and access control considerations are embedded into platform design
What We're Looking For
Strong hands-on experience with:
AWS
Terraform
Kubernetes (EKS desirable)
Docker
ECS
Git Hub Actions / CI/CD
Proven experience delivering Infrastructure as Code in production environments
Strong understanding of cloud security, IAM, and access management
Experience working on complex enterprise or government platforms
Excellent communication and collaboration skills within multidisciplinary teams
Comfortable working independently and contributing to technical decision-making
Ideal Background
3+ years' experience as a:
Dev Ops Engineer
Cloud Engineer
Infrastructure Engineer
Experience supporting internal platforms, analytical platforms, or data platforms
Government experience desirable but not essential
Hands-on Dev Ops Engineer required to support AWS-based government platforms, with strong expertise across Terraform, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code. This is a technical delivery role for someone who can hit the ground running and champion modern cloud engineering practices
