As Head of Growth – Defence
, you’ll lead our expansion across the UK Defence ecosystem. This is not a pure lead generation or account management role. You’ll shape growth strategy
, create and qualify new opportunities, influence procurement outcomes, and work closely with senior technical and delivery leaders to develop compelling propositions and lead competitive bids.
- Strong understanding of the UK Defence market and procurement landscape
, including MOD processes and Defence Prime dynamics - Proven ability to generate and convert new logo opportunities in complex, structured sales environments
- Entrepreneurial, proactive approach to building pipeline and driving sustained revenue growth
- Defence market expertise
, including familiarity with key customers (MOD, Defence Primes, and emerging innovators), operational challenges, procurement models, and strategic priorities - New business leadership with confidence opening doors, shaping early-stage opportunities, and building trusted relationships with senior Defence stakeholders
- Digital & transformation fluency
—able to articulate how secure platforms and modern engineering approaches improve capability, readiness, and mission delivery - Structured pipeline and capture leadership
—able to build and manage a high-quality pipeline and operate effectively through long‑cycle, multi‑stakeholder procurement - Bid leadership experience
—including shaping win themes and commercial strategies through to contract award - Senior stakeholder management
—ability to maintain relationships across MOD, Defence Primes, and Defence Innovators, acting as a trusted commercial interface between procurement teams and internal technical/delivery functions
- Experience applying structured sales methodologies such as MEDDIC or Miller Heiman (or equivalent) in complex enterprise environments
- Capture management experience
, including identifying and shaping must‑win opportunities 12–24+ months ahead of procurement - A strong external network within Defence communities (e.g.
TechUK, ADS, DGroup
) - Ability to leverage digital channels (e.g.
Linked In
) for early‑stage opportunity development - Experience operating in secure or regulated environments
- Hybrid location: 1–2 days in London
, with travel as required - Security clearance: Must be willing to undergo SC/DV clearance
