The MDU are recruiting a Senior Business Analyst with External Authentication experience to serve as a liaison between business and technical teams, ensuring that Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions align with strategic goals while delivering a seamless customer/member experience.
Elicit, refine, and translate business needs into IAM solutions, guiding stakeholders – especially those unfamiliar with IAM – through the process of defining their requirements.
Champion Customer IAM (CIAM) principles to create frictionless and secure user experiences that balance security with usability.
Design and support implementation of IAM frameworks and journeys that enhance customer engagement, personalization, and trust, rather than focusing solely on technical feasibility.
Support stakeholder education and strategic decision-making, simplifying IAM concepts for non‑technical teams and ensuring they recognize its impact on business growth, security, and compliance.
- Conduct deep‑dived discovery sessions with stakeholders to uncover hidden IAM needs that they may not be aware of.
- Ask the right questions and use structured techniques to extract requirements from non‑technical users, ensuring solutions are designed with both security and usability in mind.
- Proven experience as a Technical Business Analyst with a strong background in Identity and Access Management (IAM), particularly Customer IAM (CIAM).
- Deep understanding of Access Control, Authentication & Authorisation, Privileged Access Management (PAM), Role‑Based Access Control (RBAC), Identity Governance & Administration (IGA), Federated Identity & SSO.
- Familiarity with Cloud IAM (AWS IAM, Azure AD, Google Cloud IAM), Identity Lifecycle Management, User Provisioning & Deprovisioning, and Multi‑Factor Authentication (MFA).
- Strong awareness of Risk & Compliance requirements, ensuring IAM solutions adhere to GDPR, ISO 27001, NIST, and SOC 2 standards.
- Experience conducting Cybersecurity & Threat Analysis related to IAM.
- Ability to elicit, clarify, and define IAM requirements from stakeholders who lack technical knowledge, simplifying complex concepts for business teams.
- Experience with impact analysis, root cause analysis, and developing structured documentation (Scope Studies, Functional Specifications, Security Policies, IAM Governance Reports).
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, SQL) for evaluating IAM process efficiency and supporting data‑driven decision‑making.
