Location: Greater London
Love Success PLC is seeking a temporary Field Operations Engineer for a 6‑month contract based in Croydon. Pay is £161–£173 per day (£42k–£45k). The role involves nationwide travel to support technical deployments and on‑site IT operations across multiple UK locations. The engineer will manage IT infrastructure, from deploying and maintaining equipment to troubleshooting and optimisation. Working hours are 40 per week, with regular travel required.
Key Responsibilities- Execute on‑site technical setups across centre locations (rack, cable, servers, switches and associated hardware).
- Support installation and initial configuration with network engineers.
- Oversee contractor activity to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Travel nationwide (and occasionally abroad) to support deployments.
- Maintain operating systems and application installations, including security patching.
- Monitor and maintain cooling systems, PDUs, UPS units and other infrastructure.
- Support user account and permission management.
- Troubleshoot and maintain printers, scanners, biometric kits, kiosks and other devices.
- Upgrade and optimise existing infrastructure to improve performance.
- Set up and maintain surveillance systems (QVR Pro, live streams, access control).
- Manage inventory, user accounts and mobile devices, ensuring regular endpoint updates and security patching.
- Procure IT equipment, manage timely delivery and maintain accurate asset records.
- Liaise with vendors for service contracts and maintenance.
- Participate in audits and support remediation actions.
- Escalate incidents and highlight risks appropriately.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent training.
- 2+ years of experience in systems engineering or similar roles.
- Strong hands‑on experience with IT deployments, cabling, and hardware setup.
- Experience with routers and switches.
- Experience with VMware or other virtualisation technologies.
- Experience with MS Active Directory.
- Knowledge of Linux (RHEL/Debian), Bash, VMware, Windows Server, Power Shell, Windows
11, and macOS. - Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving mindset.
- Comfortable working in international environments.
