Position: Lead Data Scientist (up to £150k)
Location: Greater London

This company is building the first enterprise‑grade platform to unify decision intelligence with AI agents, optimizing real‑world outcomes for large organisations. Their work has a tangible impact, including a publicly cited project that saved hundreds of thousands of lives. They operate as an independent subsidiary of a global consulting giant, following a significant acquisition. As a Lead Data Scientist, you’ll define the technical future of their flagship platform, leading project teams to design and build bespoke computational twins that fundamentally change how clients make decisions.

This isn’t a pure IC role; you’ll own the data science approach end‑to‑end, from discovery to production, act as a trusted technical advisor to C‑suite clients, and formally manage and mentor other data scientists. You’ll set the data science vision and best practices, keeping the product at the forefront of AI.

The Work
  • Lead the technical direction for AI‑powered digital twins, from initial concept to production.
  • Own the data science approach end‑to‑end, spanning exploratory data analysis to deep learning.
  • Act as a client‑facing technical advisor, translating complex problems into mathematical frameworks for C‑suite and engineering audiences.
  • Formally manage and mentor data scientists, taking direct responsibility for their growth and development.
  • Define the data science vision and best practices for the platform, ensuring it remains current with AI advances.
What You Bring
  • Deep technical expertise in machine learning and a command of statistical methods (supervised/unsupervised learning, Bayesian inference, time‑series analysis).
  • Strong Python skills with core data science libraries (Num Py, Pandas, Scikit‑Learn) and familiarity with deep‑learning frameworks (Tensor Flow, PyTorch).
  • Proven experience leading data science projects, making key calls on technical direction, model selection, and architecture.
  • Formal management or mentorship experience for other technical professionals.
  • Commercial experience, particularly in client‑facing work or consulting, delivering innovative solutions to strict timelines.
