Private Markets Tech & Data Platform Lead - 6 month FTC

Location: London

Type: Full time

Contract: 6-month secondment or fixed-term contract

Reports to: Head of Operational Strategy, Private Markets

Role Purpose

This is a 6-month secondment or fixed-term contract opportunity to act as the single business owner for technology and data across Private Markets
. The Technology & Data Platform Lead will be accountable for ensuring that platforms, data, and insight operate as one coherent capability
, enabling investment teams to work efficiently, scale safely, and make better decisions. The role owns what is required, why it matters, and how it is prioritised—working with delivery, architecture, and vendors to achieve outcomes.

Core Accountability End-to-End Ownership of Private Markets Technology & Data
  • Own the business use, governance, and evolution of all technology and data platforms used across Private Markets.
  • Act as the single point of accountability for how technology and data support investment, operational, and regulatory outcomes.
  • Ensure platforms and data are prioritised, governed, and improved as one integrated enablement layer
, aligned to business strategy and growth.
  • Act as proxy Data Sponsor for Private Markets COO
  • Within the first 90 days
, deliver an initial assessment of the current technology and data landscape, identifying quick wins, critical gaps, and a prioritised roadmap to demonstrate early value.
Supporting Responsibilities
1. Prioritisation, Governance & Decision Support
  • Translate investment team and operational needs into clear, prioritised technology-and-data requirements.
  • Provide analysis to support trade-offs between value, cost, risk, and delivery pace.
  • Represent Private Markets requirements in working groups, change forums, and delivery stages, ensuring decisions remain business-led. Chair the Private Markets Forum to be implemented Q3 2026.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardise, and remove duplication across platforms and data flows.
2. Platform & Vendor Management
  • Act as business owner and super-user for core Private Markets platforms (e.g. Dealcloud, Verity, ILevel).
  • Centralise ownership of vendor relationships, contracts, licensing, renewals, and associated costs. Undertake Third Party Supplier assessments as required.
  • Influence vendor roadmaps to improve data quality, integration, and usability.
  • Oversee the transition of platform management activities in-house where appropriate.
3. Embedded Data Governance & Capability
  • Ensure data ownership, quality, and standards are clearly defined and pragmatically embedded within day-to-day platform use.
  • Establish and support data owners and stewards across Private Markets.
  • Represent Private Markets in firm-wide data governance forums as the business authority.
  • Promote a data-driven culture by improving adoption, literacy, and effective use of insight.
4. Innovation, AI & Continuous Improvement
  • Support and champion digital and AI-enabled change across Private Markets on behalf of the COO function.
  • Enable investment teams to articulate opportunities for better insight, automation, and efficiency.
  • Sponsor or deliver lightweight solutions (e.g. dashboards, tactical tooling) where speed and simplicity are required.
  • Track benefits realisation, focusing on adoption and outcomes rather than delivery alone.
What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who thrives in ambiguity
, comfortable shaping a role from scratch and building credibility quickly. They will bring:

  • A bias for action and a track record of delivering tangible outcomes at pace.
  • The ability to operate at both strategic and hands‑on levels—comfortable in SLT discussions and equally willing to get into platform detail.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively and influence without authority.
What We Offer
  • Pension scheme: 18% (13% Employer Contributions, 5% Employee Contributions), plus Share Save and Share Incentive Plan
  • Annual leave: 38 days including bank holidays, with the opportunity to purchase up to 5 extra days and flexibility through Time Off When You Need It policy
  • Parental support: Comprehensive Inspiring Families policy with paid parental leave covering maternity, adoption, surrogacy, and paternity
  • Health & Protection: Private Healthcare, Critical Illness cover, and Life Assurance with family options
  • Flexible working arrangements and workplace accommodations available
  • Access to financial wellbeing and support services
