A little more about your role…

The objective of your role is to enable the successful delivery of WSP's UK&I AI and wider Digital Strategy through the development of AI capability, AI-enabled digital solution offerings, and strategic client support.

You will provide leadership across Data, AI, Analytics and Digital Solutions disciplines, ensuring WSP possesses the capability, skills, governance and delivery approaches required to meet client needs and achieve regional growth ambitions.

Working closely with the UK&I Advisory, UK&I Digital Growth Lead, Chief Data Scientist & AI Lead, sector leadership teams and global digital communities, the role will help translate the AI strategy into scalable capabilities, offerings and client outcomes.

Responsibilities of the Role
  • Support the delivery of the UK&I and Global Digital Strategy by developing and strengthening WSP's capability across Data, AI, Analytics and Digital Solutions.
  • Develop and maintain a regional digital capability roadmap aligned to market demand, strategic priorities and future skills requirements.
  • Lead capability development initiatives including workforce planning, skills development, communities of practice, mentoring and knowledge-sharing programmes.
  • Support the development, industrialisation and scaling of AI and digital solutions, platforms and repeatable offerings across sectors.
  • Provide strategic support to major pursuits, client programmes and priority accounts, helping shape digital solutions that address client challenges.
  • Work collaboratively with sector leaders and digital growth teams to identify opportunities to enhance client value through digital innovation.
  • Maintain oversight of emerging technologies, market trends and industry developments to inform capability investment and solution development priorities.
  • Support the development of strategic partnerships with technology vendors, academic institutions and industry organisations to strengthen WSP's digital ecosystem.
  • Promote effective governance, responsible AI adoption and best practice approaches across digital solution development and delivery.
  • Represent WSP at industry events, client forums and professional networks, contributing to the organisation's digital reputation and thought leadership.
  • Support internal communication and engagement activities to build awareness, understanding and adoption of digital capabilities across the business.
What we will be looking for you to demonstrate…
  • Strong leadership profile within digital, data, analytics, AI or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrable experience building and leading multidisciplinary digital capability teams within complex organisations.
  • Experience developing and implementing digital, data or AI strategies and translating them into practical business outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of digital solution development, data platforms, analytics, AI and emerging technologies.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and build collaborative relationships across business functions, sectors and geographies.
  • Experience supporting business development, strategic pursuits and client engagement activities.
  • Ability to connect technical capability with market needs and client value propositions.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of translating complex technical concepts into clear business outcomes.
  • Experience operating within large, matrixed organisations and influencing beyond direct reporting lines.
  • Graduate qualification in a relevant discipline and experience in digital, data, analytics or technology related fields.
