Senior Production Application Support Engineer

We are working with a leading global financial markets technology firm that is looking to hire a Senior Application Support Engineer to join its Front Office Technology team.

This is an opportunity to support a high-performance electronic trading platform used by some of the world's largest financial institutions, working at the heart of mission‑critical trading systems in a fast‑paced, global environment.

• Providing 3rd line application support for a Front Office electronic trading platform.
• Investigating production incidents, performing root cause analysis, and driving issues through to resolution.
• Monitoring production environments using modern observability tools.
• Supporting deployments, releases, configuration management and disaster recovery testing.
• Troubleshooting across the application, infrastructure, operating system and network stack.
• Developing automation scripts and process improvements to reduce manual support activities.
• Working closely with Software Engineers, Infrastructure, Product and Business teams on project deliveries and production changes.
• Supporting SQL queries, scripting and application enhancements where required.
• Maintaining technical documentation and knowledge sharing across the support function.

• 8-10 years experience in Front Office or Financial Markets Application Support.
• Experience supporting complex distributed systems in production.
• Linux and Windows administration experience.
• Python, Bash, Power Shell or similar scripting experience.
• Java or C++ knowledge.
• Strong SQL experience (relational databases) with exposure to No
  
  SQL technologies beneficial.
• Understanding of networking, APIs and FIX Protocol.
• Experience with Git, Docker and modern monitoring tools is advantageous.
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A genuine interest in automating repetitive operational tasks.
