Job Description
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for experienced and motivated technologists with expertise in cloud technologies, AI, Generative AI, and data analytics to join our UK Solutions Architecture team. The role involves blending business acumen with technical guidance to engage with organizations at all stages of cloud adoption, helping them reinvent their businesses using AWS technology and guiding them on their cloud journey.
You will manage the overall technical relationship between our customers and AWS, lead activities such as architecture reviews, white‑boarding sessions, demo creation, and technical workshops, and influence AWS product roadmaps through customer voice. You will practice creativity, link technology to tangible solutions, educate customers about the art of the possible, and share best practices at scale across domains such as AI & Machine Learning, Serverless, Container architectures, Analytics & Big Data, Dev Ops, and Security.
- Work directly with customers to accelerate complex projects and align technological solutions with their long‑term business objectives.
- Build relationships with customers, including the C‑suite and line‑of‑business stakeholders, to establish yourself as their trusted advisor.
- Share the voice of the customer to inform the roadmap of AWS features.
- Participate in the creation and sharing of best practices, technical content, and new reference architectures.
- Evangelise and educate about AWS technology through workshops, meetups, and public speaking.
- Develop areas of depth in technical domains relevant to your customer’s outcomes and your interests.
A typical day might start by preparing for a customer meeting, reviewing their business goals, and identifying how technology could help achieve them. During the meeting you’ll listen to challenges, ask probing questions, and offer strategic advice on possible solutions. After lunch you might dive deep into the customer’s technical architecture, collaborate with internal teams to design a custom solution, lead a workshop on new AWS features, or write a blog post sharing best practices.
Throughout the day you’ll balance relationship‑building with technical work and continuously learn to stay current with evolving technologies.
- Experience with in specific technology domain areas (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
- Experience in design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures.
- Experience in IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries.
- Experience working within software development or Internet‑related industries.
- Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud.
- Experience working with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective.
