Birkbeck, University of London, is seeking a full-time IT & AV Support Specialist to join the Information Services team, providing a high‑quality, responsive support service to all University staff and students.
Our IT support specialists at Birkbeck deliver front‑line support for the deployment, maintenance and use of all computers and classroom‑based audio‑visual equipment at the University. The team provides a high‑quality, customer‑focused service for all students, academic and teaching staff in the Faculties, and professional services staff throughout the year.
Responsibilities- Deliver front‑line support for deployment, maintenance and use of software and audio‑visual equipment.
- Provide second‑line support and work with specialist technical teams to resolve complex issues.
- Ensure a first‑time fix for users and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Work onsite, Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week, with flexible shifts as required.
- Significant experience providing second‑line IT support in a corporate or higher‑education environment.
- Solid, demonstrable understanding of MS Windows and networking.
- Experience with classroom audio‑visual support is an advantage.
- Strong self‑motivated approach, ability to work at pace, and deliver first‑time fixes.
Permanent full‑time contract (35 hours per week). Salary £34,827–£38,981 per annum, Grade 5 on the College’s London Pay Scale, including a consolidated London Weighting Allowance.
