We are looking for an experienced Data Platform Architect to play a pivotal role in shaping data and AI capabilities for our clients, with deep expertise in AWS and cloud-native data, analytics and AI platforms across the data value chain. This is a senior role for someone who can set architectural direction, advise senior stakeholders and lead delivery teams, while integrating machine learning, Generative AI and Large Language Models into scalable, secure and sustainable solutions.
This is a permanent within our Technology Solutions function. At Credera, we operate a flexible hybrid working model, requiring 3 days per week onsite - either at client sites or your local Credera office (London, Leeds, Manchester or Newcastle). We value collaboration and client impact, balancing flexibility with in-person connection to deliver exceptional results.

Due to the nature of this role and specific client engagement, any offer of employment will be subject to satisfactory BPSS and SC security clearance. To meet the client's eligibility requirements, applicants must have been resident in the UK for the last five years and must not have spent more than six consecutive months outside the UK during that period.
Requirements
You will combine hands-on architecture with senior leadership, owning complex areas of delivery and bringing the best of modern data and AI engineering to public sector and regulated clients.
You will have:
- Proven experience (8+ years) in data, analytics and AI platform architecture, design and delivery
- Expertise in AWS cloud-native data and analytics platforms across the data value chain
- Experience designing scalable platform components spanning batch and real-time/streaming processing across microservices- and API-driven architectures
- Experience integrating machine learning, Generative AI and foundation models into enterprise solutions, including agentic AI approaches
- Experience implementing robust data management, security and governance for public sector and regulated environments, applying responsible AI principles
- Proven ability to lead multiple, complex areas of work to time, cost and quality with minimal direction, managing large teams as the key point of escalation
- Ability to partner with and influence senior stakeholders, navigating the political landscape of client delivery to achieve programme objectives
- A track record of understanding the whole risk landscape and standing up multi-functional teams of SMEs to resolve issues
- Recognised as a subject matter expert driving innovation and market-leading practices across multiple clients and industries
- Strong understanding of cloud-centric solution design, the full data lifecycle, and MLOps/AIOps
- Experience mentoring engineers and architects, building capability in junior team members and client counterparts
- You will be required to hold active SC clearance for this role.
Desirable skills
- Public sector or regulated industry experience (government, healthcare or
similar)- Experience with modern data warehouse and lakehouse ecosystems (Redshift, Snowflake, Databricks, Big Query, Synapse)- Familiarity with SQL and Python or Java
- Experience with MLOps and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Cloud Formation etc.) for data, analytics and AI services
- Strong understanding of CI/CD and modern approaches to IT and infrastructure
delivery
- Cloud platform architecture certification, with a data or AI specialism beneficial
- Certification in modern data warehouse / AI ecosystems (Redshift, Snowflake, Databricks etc.)
- Experience using AI or Agentic techniques in application of the role through Git Hub CoPilot, Claude Code, or equivalent
