Lead Infrastructure Engineer

Lead Infrastructure Engineer – Hands-on, Trading Technology London – Hybridup tp 150,000 + Bonus Quant Capital is working with a global market-making firm looking for a Lead Infrastructure Engineer to lead the buildout and evolution of its trading platform across cloud and on-prem environments. This is a senior technical leadership role with full ownership of infrastructure strategy, delivery, and scale across low-latency trading systems.

This hire will drive a major AWS migration, build greenfield environments, modernise legacy systems, and shape the long-term engineering roadmap. You’ll lead a small but senior infrastructure function with real autonomy and impact.

The Role Own infrastructure architecture across cloud, on-prem and hybrid platforms

Lead end-to-end AWS migration and modernisation strategy

Build greenfield environments for trading and research workloads

Design and operate highly available, low-latency global infrastructure

Take ownership of Microsoft services, Active Directory and core networking

Engineer secure connectivity across firewalls, routing and multi-site links

Drive network security, segmentation and access control strategy

Lead and grow a high-performing infrastructure/Dev Ops team Partner closely with engineering, trading and risk functions

Automate provisioning and deployment with IaC (Cloud Formation/Terraform/Ansible)
Scale monitoring, cost optimisation and system reliability in production

Background3+ years in infrastructure leadership within trading, market-making or high-performance engineering environments8+ years of experience

Strong AWS architecture and hybrid (cloud + on-prem) experience

Deep networking background: routing, switching, low-latency connectivity

Strong understanding of reliability engineering and autoscaling systems

Prior experience building and scaling teams in high-performing environments

Confident interacting with technical and trading leadership

Windows Server Active Directory Networking: BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs, VPNs, SD-WAN Firewalls and network security (Cisco ASA, Fortinet or similar)
