VoD TV Broadcast Technical Architect (AWS, TV)

Our Broadcast industry client are recruiting for a Technical Architect from a Video on Demand/TV Broadcasting sector background with In-depth understanding of modern cloud infrastructure etc including strong, hands- on experience of AWS technologies (ideally AWS Media Services - Media Convert, Media Connect, Media Live). Broadcast Media VoD sector knowledge should include a general understanding of the Media Supply Chain, exposure to scheduling systems, play-out, VoD preparation, Working knowledge of media codecs, container formats and protocols etc .

Working with a major broadcast media sector clients (broadcasters, network operators etc.) Providing design and delivery of bespoke, cloud-based software solutions.

The technical architects are involved throughout the project lifecycle:

* Work with our customers' product owners and other stakeholders to understand business requirements, and their technical teams to understand technical constraints and ways of working

* Help select the most applicable technologies and make the key design decisions within the project to enable a successful delivery

* Work closely with the pre-sales and development teams to explore different implementation options, estimate effort and produce a Statement of Work

* Document our designs and collaborate with project management, development and test teams to plan our work

* Collaborate with the development team to establish the project: environments, CI/CD pipelines, automated test strategy and tooling etc.

* Support the project team throughout the delivery phase of the project, helping overcome design and implementation challenges that may emerge

* Help ensure that the delivered product meets our standards of quality, security and reliability

* Support our customers and development/test teams through launch and beyond

Must have (soft skills):

* Excellent interpersonal skills to build lasting relationships with stakeholders

* Modesty, honesty and a willingness to accept ownership and responsibility

* Ability to self-organise with excellent attention to detail

* Risk identification and management skills

* Good verbal and written English

Must have (industry experience):

* General understanding of the Media Supply Chain

* Exposure to scheduling systems, play-out, VoD preparation etc.

* Working knowledge of media codecs, container formats and protocols

Must have (technical):

* In-depth understanding of modern cloud infrastructure

* A track record of delivering complex software projects using AWS technologies

* Competency in JavaScript/Type Script and/or Python

* Practical experience of:
- Databases:
No

SQL and RDBMS
- Compute: AWS Lambda, containers and orchestration (EC2, Fargate, Kubernetes etc.)
- Messaging/integration: SQS, SNS, Event Bridge etc.
- Storage: S3, EBS, EFS etc.
- etc.

* An understanding of event-driven architecture

* An understanding of lean/agile development methodologies

* Proficient in using AI in your day-to-day tasks, and incorporating AI into your software solutions (LLMs, agentic flows, RAG, tool use, MCP etc.)

* The ability to mentor a dev team in the effective application of AI throughout the SDLC

Nice to have:

* AWS certification

* Knowledge of AWS Media Services (Media Convert, Media Connect, Media Live etc.)
