Excellent – Remote Head of Development (Remote)
We’re looking for an experienced Head of Development to lead our remote engineering organisation. Reporting to the CTO, you’ll oversee a distributed team of Full Stack Developers (Node.js/JavaScript & React) and AWS Cloud/Dev Ops Engineers, taking ownership of technical delivery, architecture, and engineering excellence across our enterprise SaaS platform.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You’ll have a strong software engineering background and remain comfortable writing production code when needed, while mentoring teams and driving technical strategy.
Key requirements:
8+ years’ software development experience, including 3+ years leading engineering teams.
Strong hands-on expertise with JavaScript/Node.js, React, REST APIs, and AWS.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Cloud Formation), CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and the Atlassian toolset.
Proven success leading distributed, remote-first engineering and Dev Ops teams.
Strong knowledge of scalable microservices, cloud architecture, security, and SaaS best practices.
Desirable:
AWS certifications.
Experience with AI/GenAI technologies (e.g. Amazon Bedrock).Background in SaaS, Procure Tech, or enterprise software.
