Location: Greater London

Help deliver digital transformation in one of London’s most ambitious boroughs.

Hackney is one of the most dynamic and progressive local authorities in the UK. We are a resilient, vibrant, and creative borough in the heart of London, with strong, diverse communities and a powerful set of shared values.

Over the past twenty years, the Council has built up first-class services, outstanding public infrastructure, and a reputation for excellence, innovation, and ambition. We are leading the way on essential work such as our fight for equity in Hackney with a particular focus on becoming an actively anti-racist borough. But the work doesn’t stop there, we are proactive in our approach to bringing fairness to all aspects of life including gender, neurodiversity and across the poverty divide.

Hackney is transforming the way it delivers services for residents, businesses and communities. As we continue our ambitious digital transformation journey, we are looking for a motivated and collaborative Associate Delivery Manager to help deliver innovative digital products and services that make a real difference.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within multidisciplinary teams, supporting the successful delivery of projects and products from discovery through to implementation. You’ll play a key role in helping teams deliver value quickly, applying Agile principles to improve services while ensuring projects remain on track, within scope and aligned to business priorities.

Working alongside Product Managers, Delivery Managers, technical specialists and service teams, you’ll help shape the delivery of digital change across the Council, enabling better outcomes for residents and colleagues.

About the role

Reporting to the Delivery Manager, you will support the successful delivery of digital products and projects by:

  • Supporting the planning, delivery and implementation of digital projects and products using Agile methodologies.
  • Managing the delivery of small projects or work streams, ensuring agreed objectives, timescales and budgets are achieved.
  • Working with Product Owners to maintain product backlogs, roadmaps and delivery plans, ensuring work is prioritised to maximise business value.
  • Supporting sprint planning, team ceremonies and delivery activities to enable multidisciplinary teams to collaborate effectively.
  • Monitoring project progress, risks, issues and dependencies, escalating where appropriate and helping to identify practical solutions.
  • Coordinating stakeholder communications through reports, Show and Tells, project updates and governance meetings.
  • Supporting the successful deployment of new products and services, including business readiness, training, engagement and transition into live support.
  • Promoting Agile ways of working, continuous improvement and collaboration across digital teams and business services.
  • Ensuring all work is delivered in line with the Council’s security, information governance and digital service standards.
  • You will play an important role in helping deliver high-quality digital services while supporting colleagues through change and ensuring projects deliver measurable benefits.
About you

We’re looking for someone with excellent organisational skills, a collaborative approach and a passion for delivering digital change.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience supporting the delivery of digital, technology or business change projects within a complex organisation.
  • An understanding of Agile principles and experience working within Agile delivery teams.
  • Strong planning, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience coordinating project activities, managing competing priorities and supporting delivery against agreed timescales.
  • The ability to identify and manage risks, issues and dependencies, escalating where appropriate.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to work effectively with colleagues, suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
  • A commitment to delivering excellent customer outcomes while supporting innovation and organisational change.
