DeFi Algorithmic Trader| Trading Team

Westren Capital is a London-based proprietary trading firm specialising in digital asset markets. Our DeFi Algorithmic Trading team builds and runs systematic strategies across cryptocurrency and decentralized finance markets. The team works across both centralized exchanges and on-chain protocols, trading products such as spot, perpetual futures, options, and other digital asset instruments.

The role combines quantitative research, trading, and engineering. Team members analyse large datasets, study market behaviour, develop alpha signals, and build automated trading systems designed to operate in fast-moving and fragmented markets. A strong emphasis is placed on execution quality, risk management, and scalable infrastructure.

Researchers and traders work closely with engineers to develop tools, improve trading systems, and monitor live strategies. The team also works extensively with alternative datasets including blockchain data, order book data, funding rates, liquidity flows, and protocol-level activity to identify inefficiencies and market opportunities.

• Design, develop, and deploy systematic trading strategies across DeFi and on-chain markets
• Monitor and optimize live algorithmic trading systems across centralized and decentralized venues
• Research alpha opportunities in market microstructure, liquidity flows, funding, basis, MEV, and cross-exchange inefficiencies
• Build and improve execution logic for low-latency and high-frequency crypto trading strategies
• Analyze large-scale on-chain and market datasets to identify persistent trading signals
• Develop risk management frameworks, position sizing models, and exposure controls
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve trading infrastructure, automation, and execution reliability
• Monitor live PnL, slippage, transaction costs, and strategy performance metrics
• Conduct backtesting, simulation, and walk-forward validation for systematic strategies
• Stay updated with evolving DeFi protocols, token mechanics, liquidity structures, and market behavior
• Work with smart contract and infrastructure teams to integrate new protocols, venues, and trading systems
• Improve portfolio construction, capital efficiency, and inventory management across multiple chains and exchanges
