IT Engineer (6 Month Fixed-Term Contract)

We're looking for an experienced and customer-focused IT Engineer to join our IT Operations team on a 6-month fixed-term contract, providing hands-on technical support across our business while helping to maintain a stable, secure, and high-performing IT environment.
About the roleAs an IT Engineer, you'll play a key role in ensuring our colleagues can work effectively with minimal disruption by delivering expert technical support for end-user devices, networking services, and audio-visual systems. Based primarily at our Shaftesbury Avenue office, you'll take ownership of local IT support and AV services while also contributing to the wider IT Service Desk function across Marston Holdings locations.
This is a varied and rewarding role requiring a strong technical background, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a customer-first approach. You'll support both on-site and remote users, assist with office deployments and relocations, and act as a trusted technical resource across a broad range of IT disciplines.
What you'll be doing- Provide on-site support for technical issues that cannot be resolved remotely.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware,software and network issues.
- Deliver remote and telephone-based technical support.
- Install and configure laptops, desktops, mobiledevicesand peripherals.
- Support LAN infrastructure,connectivity and network cabling.
- Manage support tickets and ensuretimelyresolution.
- Escalate complex incidents where required.
- Maintain IT documentation and asset records.
- Assist with IT projects,deploymentsand office moves.
- Follow IT security standards and best practices.
- Experience in an IT Engineer, Desktop Supportor similar role.
- Experience providing on-site and remote technical support.
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365.
- Understanding of TCP/IP and LAN/WAN networking.
- Experience supporting mobile devices and end users.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities.
- Relevant IT qualification or equivalent experience.
- Full UK drivinglicenceand willingness to travel.
