Data Lead – London – Hybrid

Job description We are recruiting for a Data Lead to join our client, a regulated firm. This is a contract opportunity, offering an excellent day rate, employed via an Umbrella company.

About the role

A specialist data analytics team to deliver data analysis, dashboard development, supervisory intelligence, risk analytics, reporting and stakeholder engagement in support of a pilot funds data programme, with the objective of improving regulatory supervision through enhanced use of data. The Data Lead and Data Analysts will deliver the analytical capability for the programme by transforming data, collected via testing, into dashboards and insights.

They will then engage with supervisors to gather feedback, and identify where the dashboards could be improved using existing data, or where there are data gaps. The consultants will be responsible for delivering data analysis, dashboard development, and stakeholder engagement activities to support the evaluation of a new funds data collection, ensuring that testing leads to actionable insights that improve regulatory supervision and risk identification.

Key

responsibilities
  • Regulatory data analysis:
    Analysing authorisation, holdings, transactions, legal entity and regulatory reporting data to create integrated views of firms and entities.
  • Supervisory intelligence & risk analytics:
    Identifying trends, anomalies, concentrations and emerging risks to support supervisory and regulatory decision‑making.
  • Reporting & decision support:
    Designing, developing and refining Tableau or Power BI dashboards, management information and analytical reporting solutions.
  • Data quality & improvement:
    Assessing and improving data quality through validation, controls and data enrichment activities.
  • Stakeholder engagement:
    Engaging supervisors and business stakeholders to gather requirements, collect feedback and iteratively refine dashboards to fit their ways of working.
About you
  • Experience of leading teams in demanding environments against time pressures;
  • Experience of managing challenging and senior stakeholders;
  • Experience presenting to senior business stakeholders, translating complexity to insights as required;
  • Penchant for problem solving.
