Legal Counsel

We are seeking a technology lawyer with 3-6 years of experience in private practice to join our global Legal Team in our London office. You will work closely with our Technology, Information Security, Risk, Operations and Investment teams, as well as colleagues across our global offices, on a broad range of technology-related legal and strategic matters. This is an exciting opportunity for a lawyer who enjoys working across the full technology lifecycle, from major technology procurement and commercial contracting through to AI governance, operational resilience, data protection, information governance and emerging technology strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technology contracting and procurement – Leading legal support for the procurement, implementation and ongoing management of technology solutions across the firm.
  • Negotiating and advising on a wide range of commercial agreements, including software, data licensing, outsourcing, services and consulting agreements.
  • Advising on contract renewals, governance, performance management and exit planning.
  • Artificial Intelligence – Helping to shape the firm's legal framework for the responsible adoption and use of AI, including developing AI governance policies, standards and guidance.
  • Advising on legal and regulatory issues arising from the use of generative AI, machine learning and other emerging technologies and monitoring global regulatory developments.
  • Data, privacy and information governance – Advising on global data protection and privacy requirements.
  • Supporting the firm's data governance framework.
  • Advising on data licensing, data acquisition and data usage rights.
  • Advising on intellectual property and information security issues.
  • Strategic advisory – Partnering with senior Technology leadership on strategic initiatives and major transformation programmes.
  • Advising on technology risk, operational resilience and third-party risk.
  • Supporting the development of company policies, procedures and governance frameworks relating to technology and information management.
  • Advising on global legal and regulatory developments affecting technology, data and AI.
About You
  • 3-6 years' post qualification experience in technology, commercial or data/privacy law gained in private practice.
  • Strong experience negotiating complex commercial and technology agreements.
  • Experience advising on technology procurement and vendor management.
  • Good understanding of data protection, privacy and information governance principles.
  • Interest in AI, emerging technologies and technology regulation.
  • Commercial judgement and a pragmatic approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple complex priorities.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills.
