Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Principal Product Manager (Data)
Location: Greater London

Job title:

Principal Product Manager (Data)
Office location with Hybrid working:
Hammersmith

The Principal Product Manager (Data) owns the product strategy for how Hyperoptic turns its customer, usage and network data into measurable commercial value. Success looks like a clear, prioritised roadmap of data-driven use cases across acquisition, pricing, upsell, renewals and retention. Equally important are the capabilities of our data platform and Central Analytics models packaged into products that commercial & product teams actually use and deploy;

and a demonstrable, attributable contribution to revenue, ARPU and churn. The Principal Product Manager (Data) is a senior individual-contributor role that leads through influence, working across Product, Technology & Innovation, Central Analytics, Commercial and Marketing to make data a growth engine rather than a reporting function. The ideal candidate will have a product mindset and data skillset!!

What will you be doing?
  • Define and own the Data Monetisation product strategy and roadmap: identify, size and prioritise use cases across the customer based on commercial value, feasibility and time to impact
  • Act as product owner for data-driven decisioning capabilities, starting with the Renewals Next Best Offer and churn propensity programme, and extending into pricing, personalised offers and proactive retention.
  • Translate commercial problems into clear product requirements and work with Central Analytics (Data Scientists and Analysts) and Technology & Innovation (Data Engineering) to deliver models, scores and pipelines into live customer journeys and operational tooling.
  • Own the path from insight to production: ensure models and data products are embedded into CRM, digital journeys, pricing engines and agent tooling, and are measured in live experiments rather than left as analysis
  • Build and maintain the business case and benefits tracking for data monetisation initiatives, including expected and realised revenue, ARPU and retention impact, and report progress to the Product Director, Chief Customer Officer and Executive Team.
  • Design and run a disciplined test-and-learn programme (A/B, multivariate, holdouts) with Commercial and Marketing, so that every data-driven intervention has a measured incremental effect.
  • Champion the use of our Data Hub and Central Analytics outputs across the business: drive adoption of data products by commercial, CVM, sales and service teams, and remove friction between insight and action.
What we are looking for?
  • Significant experience as a Senior or Principal Product Manager owning data, analytics, ML-driven or monetisation products with measurable P&L impact
  • Track record of taking predictive models (churn, propensity, next best action, pricing) from proof of concept into production and proving incremental value through controlled experiments
  • Hands-on experience of experimentation and measurement design: A/B and multivariate testing, holdout groups, incrementality and attribution
  • Experience working in a subscription or recurring-revenue business where pricing, retention and customer value management are core levers (telecoms, ISP, utilities, media, fintech or insurance)
  • Working knowledge of modern data stacks and ML delivery (data lakes and warehouses, feature pipelines, MLOps, CDPs, decisioning platforms) sufficient to shape scope and challenge trade-offs with engineers and scientists
  • Telecoms or ISP experience, and/or experience in a scale-up or private-equity-backed environment and experience of B2B data or insight products, or of vendor evaluation for decisioning, CDP or ML tooling helpful
  • Commercially minded: thinks in revenue, margin, ARPU and churn, and can build and defend a business case with the CFO and CCO
