We are looking for an experienced Data Architect to support a Data Strategy Discovery engagement for a telecommunications client, covering Customer, Finance and Network domains.
The role will assess the current data landscape, including an existing GCP Big Query Data Lakehouse, and help define the target architecture, technology roadmap and governance framework.
- Lead/support stakeholder interviews and workshops across business and technical teams.
- Assess and document the current data landscape, platforms, systems, integrations and data flows.
- Catalogue databases and data sources, identifying silos, duplication and data quality issues.
- Assess the existing GCP/Big Query Data Lakehouse, architecture, scalability and integration patterns.
- Evaluate data governance, ownership, metadata, lineage, MDM, security and compliance.
- Develop current-state assessments, architecture diagrams, data inventories and maturity assessments.
- Define the high-level target data architecture, technology stack and governance framework.
- Contribute to data ontology design for AI/analytics use cases and the overall data strategy roadmap.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior client stakeholders and support stakeholder sign-off.
- Use Python and LLMs where appropriate to automate analysis and build data/process tools.
- 5+ years in data architecture, data strategy or consulting/advisory.
- Strong GCP / Big Query and Data Lakehouse experience.
- Strong knowledge of data modelling, ETL/ELT, data integration, migration and architecture.
- Understanding of data governance, metadata, lineage, MDM and data quality.
- Strong analytical skills across systems, data, processes and frameworks.
- Experience building tools/processes using Python and LLMs.
- Strong client-facing and stakeholder management experience, ideally at Architect, Analyst or DBA level.
- Telecom or complex enterprise experience highly desirable.
- Experience with wider GCP services, AI/ML data enablement and hybrid cloud migration would be advantageous.
