We’re looking for a Dev Ops Consultant with strong AWS experience to join a growing engineering team delivering secure, cloud-based platforms across complex government and critical national infrastructure programmes.
You’ll work closely with software engineers, architects and delivery teams to build, automate and support reliable cloud environments. This is a hands‑on role, suited to someone who enjoys solving problems, improving ways of working and helping teams get quality software into production faster and more safely.
The roleYou’ll be involved in:
- Designing, building and supporting AWS cloud environments.
- Developing and improving CI/CD pipelines for secure, repeatable software delivery.
- Supporting containerised workloads using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Improving platform resilience, performance, monitoring and operational readiness.
- Working with engineering teams to embed Dev Ops principles and delivery best practice.
- Troubleshooting deployment, infrastructure and application issues.
- Contributing to technical designs, documentation and continuous improvement activity.
- Working directly with stakeholders to understand requirements and provide practical technical advice.
You’ll need solid commercial experience working in Dev Ops, Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering or a similar role, with AWS as your main technical focus.
Experience with the following would be useful:
- AWS services including EC2, ECS, EKS, Lambda, S3, IAM, VPC, Cloud Watch and RDS.
- Infrastructure as Code, ideally Terraform or Cloud Formation.
- CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins, Git Lab CI, Git Hub Actions, Azure Dev Ops or similar.
- Docker and Kubernetes.
- Linux systems administration and scripting using Bash, Python or Power Shell.
- Monitoring, logging and alerting tools.
- Git, code review and software engineering best practice.
- Security‑focused cloud design, access management and vulnerability remediation.
- Azure exposure or experience supporting hybrid/multi‑cloud environments.
You don’t need to be an Azure specialist, but any experience with Azure Dev Ops, Azure landing zones, ARM/Bicep or Azure cloud services would be a bonus.
This would suit someone who is technically strong, practical and comfortable working in fast‑moving delivery teams. You’ll need to be able to communicate clearly with both engineers and non‑technical stakeholders, while keeping a focus on secure, scalable and maintainable solutions.
Please note: Successful applicants will need to be eligible for BPSS and DV security clearance. This will typically require 10 years’ continuous UK address history, no significant periods spent overseas and British nationality eligibility at the point of application. Some travel to client sites may be required.
(If this job is in fact in your jurisdiction, then you may be using a Proxy or VPN to access this site, and to progress further, you should change your connectivity to another mobile device or PC).
