As a Platform Specialist on the Observability team, you will play a crucial technical role in delivering and evolving the monitoring, logging, tracing and alerting platforms that engineers across the firm rely on to understand and run their systems, using the Dev Ops methodology. You will work with internal and external stakeholders to build and maintain automated, self-service observability services that are reliable, secure and scalable across multiple regions.
You will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the quality of telemetry the firm depends on, owning the platform end to end, from data collection and ingestion through storage, querying, dashboards and alerting. You will shape both the architecture and the user experience of the platform, and look for ways to reduce operational noise and make it easy for teams to get value from their data.
This is a hands-on engineering role, with a strong emphasis on automation, software development and operating distributed systems at scale.
- Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or similar discipline
- 4+ years of experience in Dev Ops, SRE, or platform engineering roles
- Experience with software development (at least Python, Git - Golang or Rust)
- Experience with an observability stack such as Prometheus, Victoria Metrics, Vector, Elastic stack, Grafana, Open Telemetry and Alert Manager
- Experience with observability at scale for highly distributed applications in Kubernetes
- Experience with system administration and troubleshooting (Bash, Linux, Containerization)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with creating and operating Kubernetes Operators
- Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management, such as Ansible and Terraform
