Senior Site Reliability Engineer

As the business continues to grow, they're looking for a talented Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join their Cloud Platform Engineering team in Southampton. What will you be doing? This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll have the opportunity to make a genuine impact on the performance, security and reliability of cloud-based services. Working alongside a talented team of Cloud Engineers, Dev Ops professionals and Developers, you'll help ensure platforms run smoothly, efficiently and reliably. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Keeping Azure cloud platforms running reliably, securely and efficiently. Investigating technical issues, identifying root causes and putting long-term solutions in place. Improving monitoring and observability using tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Azure Monitor and Open Telemetry . Working with Kubernetes and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) to support and improve containerised applications. Finding opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and make systems easier to manage.

Helping improve cloud performance, scalability and cost efficiency. Building dashboards, alerts and monitoring solutions that provide greater visibility into platform health. Working closely with development and engineering teams to improve software reliability. Contributing ideas and technical expertise to cloud architecture and platform improvements. Exploring how AI-assisted tools can help improve automation, troubleshooting and engineering productivity. Supporting security, governance and compliance across cloud environments.

We're looking for someone who enjoys getting stuck into technical challenges, has a passion for cloud technology and takes pride in building reliable, scalable systems. Ideally, you'll bring experience in several of the following areas:
Microsoft Azure:
Strong hands-on experience supporting and improving production cloud environments. Kubernetes:
Experience working with containerised applications, ideally using AKS. Infrastructure as Code:

Experience with Terraform, Bicep or ARM templates. Monitoring and Observability:
Knowledge of Grafana, Prometheus, Azure Monitor, Open Telemetry or similar technologies, including building metrics, dashboards and alerts. Scripting and Automation:
Good skills in Power Shell, Python, C# or a similar programming language. Cloud Architecture:
Understanding of microservices, scalable systems and cloud infrastructure. Troubleshooting:
Confidence investigating complex technical problems and implementing lasting improvements. Databases and Data:
Knowledge of SQL Server, Elasticsearch and formats such as YAML, JSON and XML. Reliability Engineering:
Experience working with SLAs, SLOs, SLIs and error budgets. Version Control:
