Job Description & How to Apply Below
Location: Greater London

A Deployment Engineer to own container deployment for every client of a vendor whose trading platform runs live, regulated venues. You'll turn each release into a repeatable Open Shift or Kubernetes deployment, prove it internally, then take it live with the client's own engineers. Nobody owns this yet, and you'll sit in design sessions before the code gets written.

The work

Your work here gets used in production, at live trading venues. This business, around 150 to 250 people, builds the core trading platform its clients run their markets on. It has since added a full set of containerised operations tools on top, and live clients are already taking them. Nobody owns getting those tools deployed yet. You will. You'll join a small, senior delivery team of Linux engineers who have spent their careers in high-frequency trading.

What

you'll own

Deployment, from release notes to live. A Dev Ops team runs the CI platform, and once a platform is live, ops handles the tickets. Everything in between is yours.

  • Take each release and its notes and write the platform-native deployment
  • Prove it on internal pre-go-live systems before it goes near a client
  • Work with the client's own engineers, on site or remotely, until it's live
  • Sit in design sessions before development starts, so load balancing, failover and certificates get settled early
  • Travel to international client sites, sometimes at short notice
What you'll need

The broader technical team uses Open Shift, Kubernetes, Docker and Podman, RHEL and Rocky Linux, Git, Git Lab CI, Terraform, Ansible and AWS. You must be eligible to work in the UK. Sponsorship is not available for this role.

  • Multi-service containerised applications deployed on more than one platform, with the Open Shift or Kubernetes manifests written by you
  • Strong Linux administration on RHEL or Rocky
  • The ability to trace a failed deployment through service dependencies, startup order and TLS / mTLS certificates
  • Comfort in front of clients: leading a setup session with their engineers and explaining an issue to a non-technical stakeholder
The package

Base up to £100,000, plus an annual discretionary bonus on company and individual performance. A strong employer pension contribution, private medical, life cover and income protection. Holiday grows the longer you stay, and parental leave is well above market. A nursery scheme and an EV salary sacrifice scheme come on top. Hybrid, three days a week in the London office.

What happens next

A CV review, then a screening call with me. If it's a fit, I'll make the Candidate Submission, followed by an intro with the hiring manager, a technical interview and a final onsite. I'll share the client name once we've had a confidential conversation.
