IT Service Transition Manager

Talentedge is working with a large, well-established consumer-facing organisation undergoing a significant technology transformation programme.

The business is transitioning from its incumbent Managed Service Provider (MSP) to a new strategic technology partner, alongside a major ISP and network connectivity migration across its extensive nationwide estate.

We are looking for an experienced IT Service Transition Manager to take ownership of the client-side coordination of this programme, ensuring a smooth transition while maintaining business-as-usual operations across a 24/7 environment.

This is a particularly complex transition requiring someone with strong technical understanding, excellent organisational skills and the confidence to manage and challenge external suppliers.

A key focus will be on technical discovery, understanding existing configurations and processes, ensuring accurate documentation and coordinating large-scale ISP and MSP migrations.

• Manage and coordinate the end-to-end MSP transition, ensuring key milestones, dependencies and deliverables are achieved.
• Lead and coordinate technical discovery across the existing IT estate, including infrastructure, network configurations, systems, services and operational processes.
• Ensure accurate technical documentation, knowledge transfer and structured handovers between the incumbent and incoming MSP.
• Coordinate large-scale ISP, WAN and network connectivity migrations across hundreds of operational sites, including new line installations, site readiness and cutover planning.
• Work closely with internal infrastructure, networking and service delivery teams to identify technical issues, understand dependencies and elevate where necessary.
• Manage relationships with the incumbent MSP, incoming provider and third-party suppliers, confidently challenging delays, incomplete documentation and delivery issues.
• Support the development and documentation of ITIL processes, knowledge bases and operational procedures, including Joiners/Movers/Leavers (JML).
• Coordinate transition activity across Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra , endpoint management, infrastructure and networking environments.
• Oversee risks, issues, dependencies and transition reporting, ensuring stakeholders have clear visibility of progress.
• Support service readiness, testing, cutovers and Early Life Support, ensuring services successfully transition into BAU.
• Ensure continuity of IT services throughout the programme, minimising disruption to a large, 24/7 operational environment.

• Proven MSP-to-MSP transition experience, ideally in a client-side capacity, coordinating incumbent exits and onboarding new strategic providers.
• Strong experience with ISP, WAN or network connectivity transitions, ideally involving multiple sites, connectivity providers and new line installations.
• Demonstrable experience undertaking technical discovery, understanding existing configurations and processes, and coordinating documentation and knowledge transfer.
• Good technical understanding of networking, infrastructure, cloud environments and IT service management, with the ability to identify issues and challenge technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with network configurations, Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra  endpoint management.
• Strong understanding of ITIL processes, service readiness, operational procedures and transition into BAU.
• Experience managing complex supplier relationships, including challenging incumbent providers and ensuring accountability for deliverables.
• Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage high volumes of site migrations, competing priorities and multiple technical work streams.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and escalation skills.
• Experience working within large, multi-site or business-critical technology environments.
• Large-scale connectivity migrations across retail, leisure, hospitality or other distributed estates.
• New site openings, site connectivity installations or construction-related IT deployments.
• Developing JML processes, knowledge bases and service documentation.
• Data centre migrations, hosted infrastructure transitions or legacy service decommissioning.
