At Burberry, we believe creativity opens spaces. Our purpose is to unlock the power of imagination to push boundaries and open new possibilities for our people, our customers and our communities. This is the core belief that has guided Burberry since it was founded in 1856 and is central to how we operate as a company today.
We aim to provide an environment for creative minds from different backgrounds to thrive, bringing a wide range of skills and experiences to everything we do. As a purposeful, values-driven brand, we are committed to being a force for good in the world as well, creating the next generation of sustainable luxury for customers, driving industry change and championing our communities.
JOB PURPOSEThe Data Platform Engineer is responsible for the operational reliability and day‑to‑day technical administration of Burberry’s core data and analytics platforms, primarily Databricks and Tableau Plus, with oversight of Alation andBigEye.
The purpose of the role is to ensure these platforms remain available, secure, performant, well‑governed and reliable for users. The role provides hands‑on technical ownership across configuration, access, monitoring, troubleshooting, release coordination, change enablement, operational readiness, documentation and continuous improvement.

The role works heavily in conjunction with Burberry’s operational support partner, who is responsible for 24/7 operational management and routine “keep the lights on” activity. The Data Platform Engineer provides Burberry‑sidetechnical ownership, assurance and escalation support, ensuring the partner has the context, standards, runbooksand direction needed to support the platforms effectively.
