Producing Broker - Cargo

Overview

A well-established insurance brokerage is looking to appoint an experienced Producing Broker to drive growth within its cargo insurance offering. This is a client‑facing, revenue‑generating role, focused on developing new business, managing key relationships, and placing cargo risks into the London and international insurance markets. The role would suit a commercially minded cargo specialist with a proven track record of producing income and building long‑term client relationships.

• Actively produce new business within the cargo insurance market, targeting international clients
• Manage and grow a portfolio of cargo insurance clients, with full ownership of client relationships
• Design and place cargo insurance programmes into the London and overseas markets
• Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing with underwriters and insurers
• Work closely with Account Handlers to ensure high‑quality servicing and retention of clients
• Attend client meetings, presentations, and industry events to develop market presence
• Identify cross‑sell and upsell opportunities across marine and related lines
• Maintain accurate pipeline and income forecasts
• Ensure compliance with FCA regulations and internal governance requirements

• Demonstrable experience as a Producing Broker within cargo/marine insurance
• Strong understanding of cargo insurance placements, clauses, and global trade risks
• Established network of insurer and client relationships within the cargo market
• Proven track record of generating and growing income
• Confident negotiator with strong presentation and influencing skills
• Commercially astute with a proactive, self‑motivated approach
• Experience placing risks into the London Market
