* * About Hiscox Re & ILS
** We are located in Bermuda and London and underwrite reinsurance risks from around the world on behalf of our own and partner capital. Our team of over 100 smart and enthusiastic individuals are committed to providing top quality service to brokers and clients across a broad range of reinsurance products. We protect our clients’ assets against natural and man-made disasters, covering everything from earthquake and hurricane damage to cyber events, financial risks and terror attacks around the world.

Our approach is simple; match the best underwriting risk against globally diversified capital. Our proactive, product-led underwriting approach is complemented by a commitment to world class service through purpose-built analytics and systems. We know our people are our biggest asset so finding and retaining the best talent is a priority.
** About the North American Reinsurance team:
** Our team operates across our London and Bermuda platforms, writing a range of Property Treaty reinsurance products for clients in North America. We are a market leader and with this comes the need for product innovation, excellent client and broker service and the ability to deploy meaningful capacity.  We strive to create the best tools for analysing the various lines we write to ensure strong returns on capital.

Our team has an ambition to build the portfolio going forward, both within and outside our existing areas of expertise.  This will require our underwriters to demonstrate an adaptable mindset, strong analytical capabilities, a commercial approach and an entrepreneurial attitude.

* Prior experience working with third party capital would be an advantage.
* Proficiency in statistical analysis and comfort working with data analytics platforms (e.g. Excel, SQL, R, Python).
