As a Motor Risk Consultant, you will be responsible for providing technical analysis on motor related exposures and risk improvement consultation to AXA XL’s large commercial customers, to positively impact their loss ratio and to deliver value that influences the insurance buying decisions. Your primary focus will be the successful execution of technical risk consulting services to Clients, Brokers and Underwriters.

Furthermore, you will support Underwriters and Client Development Leaders in building and maintaining effective and efficient Client and/or Broker relationships to identify opportunities for profitable growth.

As a Motor Risk Consultant, you will embody these values and be responsible for the delivery of outstanding risk consulting services to clients, brokers and underwriters. This role is considered both a technical and market/customer-facing position also supporting the Global Chief Underwriting Officer Auto/Motor Liability to build influential market and client profile.

What you’ll be doing

What will your essential responsibilities include?

Underwriting, Broker & Client Support

  • An in depth understanding of all areas of motor risk management, understand the existing motor fleet sector.
  • Excellent communication skills - will need to build robust relationships with both internal teams and key clients.
  • Able to influence and negotiate with key stakeholders.
  • Support key AXA XL fleet clients both verbally and written communication
  • Managing and coordinating risks, handling referrals from brokers, clients, and colleagues.
  • Collate, analyse and interpret underwriting information to build risk management programmes for key customers.
  • Deliver reports - working to agreed deadlines
  • Provide advice around current legislative standards
  • Manage relationships and work with key / approved external risk management providers.
  • Support the International Motor growth initiative by engaging with prospects and clients in UK and Europe

Product & Product Development Support

  • Develop an industry-specific expert knowledge in the defined segment.
  • Establish an Ecosystem of third party partners to deliver motor risk prevention services
  • Enhance Motor Risk Consulting’s visibility in the market through participation in Broker market events and seminars, to promote our capabilities and of the wider AXA XL enterprise.

You will report to the Casualty Risk Consulting Team Manager

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

  • Proven experience in the Insurance industry experience
  • Business experience in the motor fleet sector
  • Industry knowledge and experience of motor risk assessment processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Responsiveness and service commitment - both internally and externally
  • Knowledge of motor risk prevention tools and related legislative standards
  • Data analytics experience
  • Additional language skills would be advantageous
  • Experience of presenting technical industry insights to internal and external customer bases
  • Hold a current driving license and willing to travel
