Marine Claims Handler

You’ll handle Marine claims from notification through to settlement, to a delegated authority and partnering closely with senior claims management. The role offers strong exposure to London Market processes, large losses, reinsurance and market meetings, with ongoing mentoring and support from experienced claims professionals.

• Manage, assess and adjust Marine claims in line with policy coverage and authority levels
• Accurately assess coverage and set / maintain appropriate reserves
• Proactively manage claims files, ensuring robust documentation, diarisation and reporting
• Work closely with senior claims handlers and claims management on individual and complex claims
• Maintain high standards of communication with underwriting and claims management on significant claims and trends
• Ensure large loss information is shared promptly and reports are issued appropriately
• Liaise with brokers, policyholders and other market stakeholders
• Attend London Market claims meetings as required
• Work collaboratively with underwriting, finance, actuaries and reinsurance teams
• Assist with reinsurance issues where required
• Ensure compliance with Lloyd’s Minimum Standards, FCA / PRA requirements and TCF principles

• London Market insurance experience is essential
• Experience handling Marine claims (2+ years preferred, but flexible for the right profile)
• Working knowledge of ECF2
• Good understanding of general insurance principles and the claims lifecycle
• Awareness of Lloyd’s, FCA and PRA rules and guidelines
• Studying towards or interested in progressing CII qualifications
