Casualty Claims Handler Market

Are you a Casualty Claims Handler with experience gained in the London market and looking for your next step, or an opportunity that will genuinely broaden your technical claims exposure?

This role is ideally suited to a second job move but will also appeal to candidates with a bit more experience who are looking to develop further within a strong, well-structured claims function.

You’ll handle a diverse Casualty claims portfolio including General Liability, Life Sciences and Environmental, managing claims within your delegated authority and working closely with senior handlers and claims management.

The position offers excellent exposure to London Market processes, large loss handling, reinsurance and market meetings, with real support and mentoring from experienced claims professionals.

• Manage Casualty claims from first notification through to settlement
• Accurately assess coverage and set / maintain appropriate reserves
• Proactively manage files, ensuring strong documentation, diarisation and reporting
• Work closely with senior claims handlers and claims management on complex matters
• Liaise with brokers, policyholders and market stakeholders
• Share information on significant claims and emerging trends with underwriting
• Support large loss reporting and reinsurance interactions
• Attend London Market claims meetings as required
• Ensure compliance with Lloyd’s Minimum Standards, FCA / PRA requirements and TCF principles

• Experience handling Casualty claims within the London market (2-4 years preferred, but flexible for the right profile)
• Working knowledge of ECF2
• Good understanding of general insurance principles and the claims lifecycle
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Able to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Awareness of Lloyd’s, FCA and PRA rules and guidelines
• Studying towards or interested in pursuing CII qualifications
