Description
Junior Claims Handler [Specialty Lines] – London. Hybrid, two days in office. Permanent / full-time. We are a fast-growing global reinsurance speciality company servicing the insurance markets of Lloyds, Europe and North America. Due to a promotion, we have an excellent development opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to build a career in claims within the dynamic Lloyds insurance market. As a Junior Claims Handler, you'll work closely with experienced professionals on varied Specialty Lines insurance claims, gaining hands-on exposure to the Lloyds environment and building your technical understanding of the insurance lifecycle.
Responsibilities- Support senior claims professionals with the management of open and legacy claims
- Review and analyse claim notifications and supporting documentation
- Liaise with brokers, TPA and other external stakeholders
- Maintain accurate claim records and ensure data integrity across systems
- Assist in claims reporting, MI production and portfolio reviews
- Contribute to continuous improvement of claims processes and controls
- Gain insight into reinsurance structures, commutations and run-off management
- Support the Claims Manager with ad-hoc projects across the department.
- Work on projects that may include due diligence, reserving, or systems enhancement
- Right to work in this location
- Some technical claims handling expertise, including understanding of insurance policy terms, procedures and Bordereaux
- Knowledge of PI, FI, D&O, EL, and Lloyds claims preferred
- Sound understanding of policy terms and legal frameworks
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and adapt
- Skilled negotiator with experience in settlements and mediations
- Clear, confident communication skills
- Builds strong internal and external relationships
- Experienced in complaint resolution
- Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and related systems
