Senior Underwriter, Airline & Deductible

Location: Greater London

** How you will make an impact:
*** Underwrite the Airline & Deductible portfolio in line with global strategy and risk appetite
* Take a leadership role in the market, represent AIG’s lead portfolio with highest service levels possible
* Maintain client focus – commercial acumen against underwriting focus; ‘can-do’ attitude
* Project management of the entire new business and renewal process from actuarial and underwriting through to legal, credit and risk management.
* Underwrite and service risks to an acceptable standard within the authority delegated to you.
* Comply with key regulatory and risk management responsibilities
* Provide clear communication to our clients and brokers and lead through change
* Operate within the Global Aerospace underwriting guidelines and risk appetite
* Help the team to work towards budget and profitability goals by implementing and supporting an effective underwriting process.
* Produce new business by working with broker network to source new opportunities
* Provide excellent service to our brokers and clients through a consistent, timely and proactive approach to underwriting
* Produce accurate and timely management information for senior management (new business, lost business, portfolio splits) as required
* Maintain accurate files and adhere to all standards and service level agreements for premium processing, policy issuance and file maintenance
* Provide information and assistance as needed to ensure that all other AIG team members can carry out their responsibilities
* Produce files for Self-Audits to the agreed standards
* Maintain focus on industry practices, developments and pricing
* Work with Actuaries on pricing and rating model development (major account pricing, AvE, profit studies) as required
* Ensure that all our customers are treated fairly in accordance with American International Group UK Ltd standards and maintain high service levels to both internal and external customers
** What you need to succeed:
*** Proven experience in the London Aerospace marketplace with associated brokers and clients
* Risk analysis and technical skills
* Flexibility and ability to adapt to rapidly changing work environments
* Ability to work autonomously whilst being part of a team
* Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
* Excellent time management skills
* Strong project management skills
* Proven ability to network and build relationships
