- Manage and lead complex Marine (and related Energy) claims, delivering technical excellence, strong market engagement, and effective portfolio oversight.
- Handle, adjust, and negotiate standard and complex marine claims (1st and 3rd party), including litigated matters.
- Manage delegated and cover holder accounts, including bordereaux oversight.
- Provide portfolio analysis, reserving input (IBNR/ultimates), and maintain watchlists and claim inventories.
- Liaise with brokers, insureds, reinsurers, legal representatives, experts, and service providers.
- Support underwriting and actuarial teams with claims data for renewals and reserving meetings.
- Represent the business at broker meetings, renewal discussions, market events, and seminars.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to process and system improvements.
- Extensive marine claims adjusting experience (c.10+ years preferred).
- Strong background in large, complex, and litigated marine liability claims; energy exposure advantageous.
- Deep understanding of Lloyd’s/Managing Agency environment and regulatory standards.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and decision-making capability.
- Confident communicator able to lead on complex market losses.
- Highly organised, strategic thinker, able to manage competing priorities independently.
