Senior Property & Casualty Underwriter

One of the biggest names in the insurance market has a new opportunity to join their Manchester Branch as a Senior Property & Casualty Underwriter. You will join an established team which is continuing to grow, they are a highly ambitious underwriting team with a strong emphasis on new account  this role, you will play a key part in securing and underwriting profitable new business, with a particular focus on property risks while still managing a broad range of Package business across both Property and Casualty lines.

You’ll manage cases typically ranging between £50k and £100k in premium, with regular exposure to larger and more complex risks in the £200k to £300k range, which makes this an ideal position for someone confident in handling mid-market and higher-value business.

Alongside your own portfolio, you will act as a senior member of the team, providing guidance, technical support, and mentoring to junior underwriters. Your experience will help strengthen the overall capability of the team as you contribute to underwriting decisions, development discussions, and the shaping of underwriting standards.

A key part of the role will be working closely with brokers, building strong, collaborative relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and contributing to the continued expansion of the new business pipeline. Your commercial insight, communication skills, and ability to influence successful outcomes will be key to your success.

To be considered you must have proven underwriting experience within property and casualty underwriting. This could be at Senior Underwriter currently or as an experienced Underwriter stepping up to Senior Underwriter level.
