An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Account Handler to join a growing and highly successful commercial insurance team based in London.
Supporting a team of experienced Commercial Account Managers and Account Executives, you'll play a vital role in delivering exceptional client service, ensuring the smooth day-to-day administration of commercial insurance portfolios and helping to drive both client retention and new business growth.
This is a varied role offering exposure to the full insurance lifecycle, including renewals, new business, mid-term adjustments and policy administration. You'll work closely with clients, insurers and colleagues, providing first-class support while developing your technical knowledge and progressing your insurance career.

Key Responsibilities
Account Management Support
- Provide day-to-day support to Commercial Account Managers and Account Executives.
- Assist with the administration and servicing of commercial insurance portfolios.
- Prepare client documentation, renewal packs, quotations and policy schedules.
- Process mid-term adjustments, renewals and policy amendments accurately and efficiently.
- Liaise with insurers to obtain quotations, policy documentation and underwriting information.
- Ensure all client records are maintained accurately within Acturis.
Client Service
- Build positive relationships with clients, insurers and internal stakeholders.
- Respond promptly to client enquiries and policy queries.
- Deliver a professional and efficient service throughout the client journey.
- Assist with policy renewals and ensure all documentation is issued within agreed timescales.
- Support client retention by delivering a consistently high standard of service.
New Business Support
- Assist with new business enquiries from initial enquiry through to policy placement.
- Prepare market presentations and obtain quotations from insurers.
- Work alongside Account Managers and Account Executives to deliver competitive insurance solutions.
- Follow up outstanding quotations and support new business conversion.
- Help identify opportunities to cross-sell additional insurance products and services.
- Assist with prospect research and pipeline administration to support business development activity.
Administration & Operations
- Maintain accurate client files and policy documentation.
- Process insurer correspondence and client documentation efficiently.
- Monitor outstanding actions to ensure service levels are maintained.
- Support diary management and renewal planning where required.
- Ensure all administrative tasks are completed accurately and within service standards.
- Assist with ad hoc projects and operational improvements.
Compliance & Quality
- Ensure all work complies with FCA regulations, Consumer Duty and company procedures.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Follow internal compliance and quality assurance processes.
- Support positive customer outcomes through accurate and compliant administration.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Previous experience within Commercial Insurance Account Handling or Insurance Administration.
- Good understanding of commercial insurance products.
- Experience supporting renewals, new business or policy administration.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
- Experience using Acturis or similar insurance broking systems.
Desirable
- Experience working within an insurance broker.
- Exposure to SME or Mid-Corporate commercial insurance.
- Cert CII qualified or working towards professional qualifications.
- Experience supporting Account Executives or Account Managers.
